EDMONIA CROCHET

Mrs. Edmonia “Monia” Gaudet Crochet, 88, a native of Charenton and a resident of Franklin, died Wednesday December 23, 2009, at 8:05 a.m., at the Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
 
The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday, December 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.
 
Visitation will resume Monday, December 28, at 9 a.m., until time of services at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 28, at 11 a.m., at St. Jules Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Vu officiating. Burial will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin.
 
Mrs. Monia is survived by two sons, Ronald Crochet and his wife, Sharon, of Franklin and Kerry Crochet and his wife, Eleanor, of St. Martinville; three brothers, Edwin Gaudet Jr. of Bayou Vista; Larry Gaudet of Baldwin; and Milton Gaudet of Franklin; four sisters, Audrey Maupin of Jeanerette, Lydia Stouff of Charenton, Angelle Duhon of Franklin and Theresa Falls of Breaux Bridge; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Crochet; her father, Edwin Gaudet Sr.; her mother, Ermese Abshire Gaudet; and two sisters, Anamae Louviere and Analee Charpentier.
