A 13-year-old boy was killed in a two-car collision Thursday on La. 182 near Caffery Curve. State Police Troop I reports the accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. just west of Franklin. Loretta Clark, 40, of Franklin, was reportedly driving a 1997 Nissan Altima, eastbound on La. 182, when she crossed the centerline and struck a westbound 2001 GMC Yukon, driven by 46-year-old Cynthia Rodriquez of Jeanerette. Clark was properly restrained and was transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital with moderate injuries. Thirteen-year-old Donielle Miller was a front seat passenger in the Clark vehicle. He was not restrained and was transported to Foundation and later died. Rodriquez was wearing a seatbelt and sustained only minor injuries in the crash. Charges are pending on Clark and the crash remains under investigation.
