Glenda Landry

Glenda Mae Hebert Landry, 63, a native of Galveston, Texas and a resident of Franklin for the past 53 years, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at 5:11 a.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday, Feb. 23rd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. The mortuary will reopen Friday at 9 a.m. until time of service.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 24, at 12 noon, at Ibert’s Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Deacon Douglas Hebert will officiate the services.

                                               Pallbearers will be Reese Landry, Earl Bordelon, Kelvin Gaspar, Jay                                                              Broussard, George Graffeo, and Warren Boudreaux.

                                               Mrs. Landry is survived by her husband of 44 years, August J. "A. J." Landry                                                 Sr. of Franklin; one son, Joey Landry of Franklin; two daughters, Kathy                                                           Boudreaux and her husband, Robin, of Franklin, and Gwen Bordelon and                                                     her husband, Earl, of Franklin; one sister, Joyce Hebert Gaudet of Bayou                                                       Vista; one stepbrother, Reese Landry of Patterson; seven grandchildren,                                                       Robin J. Boudreaux Jr., Daniel Boudreaux, Jay Broussard Jr. Warren                                                             Boudreaux, Jeremy Boudreaux, Mandi Melancon, and Jessica Bordelon;                                                      and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jean Baptiste Hebert; mother, Lucille Schmiegel Landry; and two sisters, Patricia Ann Hebert, and Barbara Lee Hebert.

Mrs. Landry was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Pin Shakers Bowling League in Morgan City for over 30 years, having bowled in many national and state tournaments. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, camping, and fishing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
