Emile Louis Boudreaux Sr

A longtime circulation employee of the Banner-Tribune and well known local resident Emile Louis Boudreaux Sr., 81, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at his residence. He was a native of St. Martinville and a resident of Franklin for the past 53 years.

Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris Murrell Boudreaux of Franklin; five sons, Emile Louis Boudreaux II and his wife, Dianne, of Franklin, Robin James Boudreaux Sr. and his wife, Kathy, of Franklin, John Ernest Boudreaux of Conyers, Georgia, Clay Anthony Boudreaux of Baton Rouge, and Troy Gerard Boudreaux and his wife, Angela, of Franklin; one brother, Joe Boudreaux of New Iberia; two sisters, Eunice Delcambre of New Iberia, and Rena Froisy of Jeanerette; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

                                                    He was preceded in death by his parents, Delma Boudreaux and                                                                   Donatilde Broussard Boudreaux; four brothers, Wilson, Arthur, Dudley,                                                          and Lawrence Boudreaux; and three sisters, Melina Broussard, Lydia                                                           Armentor and Louise Louviere.

                                                   Mr. Boudreaux, known to local residents as "The Cajun Joker," was a                                                            member and a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Franklin                                                         Council 1420, and was an usher for the Church of the Assumption.

                                                   The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, from 6 p.m.                                                       to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.                                                                  Visiting will resume Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption at 8                                                            a.m. until Mass time.

                                                 A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at                                                      the Church of the Assumption. Interment will follow in the Franklin                                                                    Cemetery. Father Michael Russo will officiate the services.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Boudreaux, Brent Boudreaux, James Boudreaux, Jay Broussard, Darrell adams and Donald Hahn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel, Warren, Jeremy and Ryan Boudreaux, Kevin Gulsby, Harry Davis, Perry Lowery and Jerry Barrilleaux.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.
