JAMES A. FUHRER

James Anthony Fuhrer, 52, a native of and a life long resident of Franklin, died, Friday, February 1, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mr. Fuhrer is survived by his wife, Cathy Foster Fuhrer of Franklin; son, James Anthony "Tony" Fuhrer II and his wife, Mary Alice, both of Berwick; daughter, Rebekah Fuhrer Crappell and her husband, Christopher, both of Franklin; mother, Emily Charpentier Fuhrer of Franklin; five brothers, Bill Fuhrer of Berwick, Bob Fuhrer of Youngsville, George Fuhrer of Franklin, Joe Fuhrer and his wife, Cindy, both of Centerville and David Fuhrer and his wife, Joellen, both of Berwick; sister, Mary Theresa Fuhrer Harrison and her husband, Charlie, both of Zachary; two grandchildren, Alline Kennedi "Alli" Crappell of Franklin and James Anthony Fuhrer III of Berwick and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles T. Fuhrer.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday, Feb. 7 at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitations will resume Friday at The Church of Assumption from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Church of Assumption, with Father Jay Baker, Vicar General for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodeaux officiating. Interment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
