
Doris Murrell Boudreaux, 80, a native of and a lifelong resident of Franklin, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Mrs. Boudreaux is survived by her five sons, Emile Louis Boudreaux II and his wife, Dianne, both of Franklin; Robin James Boudreaux Sr. and his wife, Kathy, both of Franklin; John Ernest Boudreaux of Conyers, Georgia; Clay Anthony Boudreaux of Baton Rouge; and Troy Gerard Boudreaux and his wife, Angela, both of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Boudreaux was employed by South Central Bell Telephone and the Franklin Banner-Tribune for many years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Assumption, a Charter Member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Assumption 1672 and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was best known for her homemade fruitcakes that she would bake and sell to friends for over 60 years. The recipe from the 1800s was handed down from her maternal grandmother.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Church of Assumption from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m., at Assumption, with Father Billy Ruskoski officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Boudreaux, Robert Brent Boudreaux, Robin James Boudreaux Jr., Perry Lowery, Donald Hahn and Darrell Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Boudreaux, Jay Broussard, Warren Boudreaux, Ryan Boudreaux, Jerry Barrilleaux and Harry Davis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
